- Responsibilities:
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
- Assumes the responsibility of collecting delinquent accounts in a timely manner. Collects delinquent accounts in a timely manner utilizing available bank systems accurately documenting efforts in this regard. Contacts customers as necessary to effect timely collection of all delinquent accounts. Properly gathers information on all accounts, sorts out viable alternatives and reaches conclusions and discusses situations with supervisor as necessary. Works with bank attorneys, monitors all bankruptcies, files necessary claims and represents the bank in court when necessary.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relations with customers, business contacts and fellow employees. * Obtains and conveys information as needed. * Answers questions and resolves problems promptly and courteously. * Deals with customers, business contacts and fellow employees in a congenial and friendly manner. * Maintains customer confidentiality. * Informs management in a timely manner of any significant problems or areas of concern.
- Assumes responsibly for related duties as required or assigned. * Attends meetings and training as required. * Completes special projects as required.
- Qualifications:
Performance Measurements
- Timely collects delinquent accounts within established Bank policies keeping delinquencies to a minimum.
- Properly gathers information on accounts, sorts out viable alternatives and reaches conclusions and discusses situations with supervisor as necessary.
- Deals with customers, business contacts and fellow employees in a congenial and friendly manner.
- Adjusts to departmental changes as necessary.
- Performs in a businesslike and professional manner in behavior, appearance and attendance.
- Informs management in a timely manner of any significant problems or areas of concern.
- Education/Certification:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Required Knowledge:
- Collections knowledge helpful. Banking experience preferred.
- Experience Required:
- Previous collections experience preferred : individual must be detailed and meticulous.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Well organized. Attentive to detail. Strong self motivator Able to assist and coordinate activities with others. Able to use PC, various software tools, telephone and other basic business equipment
Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position
- Finger Dexterity
- Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
- Talking
- Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Average Hearing
- Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
- Repetitive Motion
- Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Average Visual Abilities
- Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products.
- Physical Strength
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)
Working Conditions
No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
Mental Activities and Requirements of this Position
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions.
- Mathematics Ability:
- Ability to compute financial ratios, cash flow and debt service.
- Language Ability:
- Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, and instruction manuals. Ability to prepare memos, internal loan applications, and reports, using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.
