PT Security Guard

- Responsibilities:
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for providing support to the Security Department. .
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Patrol buildings and grounds of work site. Examine doors and windows to determine that they are secure. Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unlocked. Observes arriving/departing personnel to guard again theft of company property. Sound alarm, call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons. Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of equipment for use of supervisory staff. Other duties as assigned.- Qualifications:
- EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Prefer 3-6 months previous watchman experience.
- SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing
- FINGER DEXTERITY:
- Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
- TALKING:
- Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- AVERAGE HEARING:
- Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
- REPETITIVE MOTIONS:
- Walking, standing and opening doors.
- AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES:
- Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
- PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
- Walking most of the time. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.
- Language Ability:
- Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5,000-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.
- Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and using adjectives and adverbs.
- Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.
